A Tale of Lights at The Cube Cafe

Hi there lovely, as i'd earlier shared, I am on tour. I'm performing my music around some very peculiar venues in the city of Abuja and my first stop was so interesting, you'll just have to see it to believe. It was at THE CUBE CAFE in Maitama, on the 4TH OF AUGUST, 2018. Look at this picture really quickly...

That's me, in the background, watching a songbird Ireti, serenade the audience. I had just completed my first set of songs with my band and I took a break to watch someone else share their talent and boy, it birthed something within me! I realized that as much as I wanted to use this 'grow up' tour as an opportunity to expose my talent to the world, I could also use it as a platform to share other talents with the world as well.

Sharing the stage added color, and beauty to the whole experience for me and it taught me that 'light shines brightest when combined with other lights, as opposed to when it stands alone' . If you look closely at the picture above, you'll see a man to my left; His name is Deji Ige. He's an amazing poet who also lent me his light and together we all shone so bright!

I realized another thing at the Cube Cafe. Everyone who came out to see me truly came out on their own. I didn't promote of coerce anyone to come see me play. I realized that, my music could now stand on its own, it'd developed legs, and found its audience and it called out to them, all on its own, without much of an effort from me, the vessel. This was an amazing and empowering realization.

honestly, the first stop of my 'Grow up' tour was amazing. It was also an opportunity to spread the word about my new single 'Grow Up' which I recorded with Singer-songwriter and producer, Johnny Drille. Needless to say everyone was anticipating its release.

See you at the next stop? Check my EVENTS page to know where i'll be next.

Oh my goodness guys! I finally get to say that i'm on tour. It's every musician's dream to tour various cities and perform original music to fans, both new and old. I've always wanted to do this and finally, I get to.

Recently, I collaborated with one of Nigeria's finest alternative artists and we made a song called "Grow Up". I was so inspired by the song that my team and I decided to build a whole tour around it. We are going to be traveling and playing my original music all over the world during this tour. I want to meet with you all face to face, take pictures, share vulnerable stories and change each other's lives.

I have some dates out already, Just click on the events page to find out where i'll be, RSVP and get ready for some live musical awesomeness. I can't wait to see you! first stops are The Cube Cafe Maitama, and Delphino Picnic.

I Danced at Abuja 500

On the 2nd of April 2018, I participated in a festival called 'Abuja 500' where everything on site was sold at 500 Naira or below and since I was a performing act there, I guess I was valued at 500 Naira as well haha. Anyways, it was a very fun event, and I actually did what I wouldn't dare to do on a good day..... can you guess? .......? I danced!!

Now, i'm not a very confident dancer, especially in public because my moves are a bit unconventional but I had so much fun, I didn't know when I began to bust my moves! below are pictures from the event; feel free to comment on your favorite picture. Cheers :)

Private and Acoustic with Blessing Tangban

To mark my first event of the year, I hosted my fans to a private and acoustic concert on the 8th of March, 2017. It was an intimate session of sharing the stories that inspire my music as well as a chance to meet and greet with my avid followers and supporters. Because it was the first event of the year for me, I wanted it to be as intimate as possible so that I could set a good tone for the year. The event also featured a fund raiser to support my future music endeavors.

I had such an amazing time because the sound set up was top notch, so I could hit all my notes haha and my fans were awesome as well. significantly enough, it was one of my fans that hosted the entire event in her garden which is something I will never forget...... so side note, thank you Sofia! she brought food and drinks and let us celebrate her 30th birthday with her.

After this experience, I will definitely host a lot more private and acoustic sessions so stay tuned for the next one!
